Spanish for “old” or “vintage,” the word Añejo in this newest H. Upmann cigar brand release refers to all the tobacco leaves in this blend being at least five years old. Born out of Havana, Cuba in 1844 by brothers August and Hermann Upmann the legend of the H. Upmann brand is strong, with some attributing the original owners with the invention of the cedar box as the preferred storage method for cigars. Using an Ecuador Habano wrapper, a Pennsylvania broadleaf binder and filler from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic all aged at least 5 years. This medium to full-bodied treat has a robust profile filled with notes of earth, wood, leather and subtle pepper.
